Islamlar
Islamlar brief information about
The little-known, quintessential village of Islamlar is the place to visit if you wish to be transported into true Turkish culture. Situated in the foothills of the Taurus mountains just a short drive from the upscale town of Kalkan, the village is backed by a flourishing cedar forest and is wonderfully green. Once a Greek village known as Bodamya in former times, the modern-day village maintains much of the original village lifestyle. Populated largely by farmers, Islamlar produces an abundance of grapes and olives from its vineyards and groves.
Locally renowned for its’ handful of trout restaurants and refreshing cooler climate than the seaside resorts, the village is a welcome retreat to locals during the height of summer. For those wishing to sample organic produce and traditional dishes the menus at Islamlar are perfectly crafted. Homemade mezzes, fresh and locally sourced fruit and vegetables make up the staple of dishes served in this luscious green hideaway.
